Waco Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Why am I not surprised the direction this went (in and out )? Anyway - oil pump, pan, and rear main seal installed after getting all of the pistons back in and clearances checked. I busted the stupid front crank seal so Amanda is going to pick up one for me tomorrow.
Onion Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Awesome... that's my favorite part. stuffing pistons in the holes Mine too Actually, the lubricating and working of said holes to be ready for piston entry is the best part. Though even with premium....you might still detonate His timing is too advanced. Stop firing so early!

Waco Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 New crank seal installed. Tapped it in properly this time instead of destroying it by slipping.

Boinker Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Not that Im knockin it Waco and bluePanda but why did you go with orange? Just curious as I would have gone with what you had the head colored as in the before the disassemble photos. But all in all looks good. Nice to see that you marked the pistons. some people forget that a lot.
Waco Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 It's fire truck red - my cell phone camera just sucks that much.
Waco Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Got a little bit of work done this weekend so far. Amanda was being very helpful here: All together minus accessories and a few misc parts... I should have painted the thermostat housing. The extremely gross engine bay and the slightly cleaner than it was before transmission (with new seals) She's hiding in the corner until needed. Hopefully when fired up for the first time it doesn't self destruct. Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack Looks just a tad better.
Andrewr05 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Nice, I'm glad you went with black, it'll make the red look all the better.
Waco Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Me too...I don't think the red would have matched well after long, and black should be easier to keep clean.

Waco Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Yup! Flywheel/clutch/pressure plate are all that's left before putting the motor back in. After that, it's all miscellaneous parts...then break in time.
