Dariuas Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 As we move in to the day dedicated to Vetreans, I wanted to reach out and first thank my fellow service members for their time in the military, and their dedication to freedom around the world. I would ask that you take just a few minutes to post and tell us what branch you were in, how long, and a sea story of your time in the service. My service: I was in the US Navy from 2004-2007. I was injured on board the USS Eisenhower so forced to exit the military. I was an Aircrew Survival Equipmentman 3rd class (E4) when I got out. My short sea story: During bootcamp, we were evacuated from our barracks because of an anthrax scare. Keeping in mind, this was the time in 2004 when this was rampant and anthrax letters were showing up a lot. So we got evacuated and had to go sleep in the gym. Our LCPO (Leading Chief Petty Officer) was the one first exposed to this white powder substance; so in the middle of September in Illinois he was decontaminated (Sprayed down with freezing cold water) and scrubbed by men in suits. cjloki Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 US Army 77-84, post Vietnam "Volar" ,honorably discharged, ...i don't really want to go into the nature of my service...but my first MOS was "15E Pershing Missile Crewman" , my second MOS was " Computer Programmer/Analyst" 74F, and by the time i ETS'd i was working in the supply and logistics field... Was a 25f during my active years, serving as a communications specialist with the patriot missile system. Did a year down range. Currently a 91B. Mechanic in a reserve transportation company.
