New build, thoughts?

Recommended Posts

Here is my new build.  Im upgrading from an old Core 2 Duo E6600 system.  Im trying to keep it to around 1000 dollars.  The only part holding over from my old system to the new is an EVGA GTX650ti boost.

Case: Cooler Master Storm Stryker

Mobo: Asus Maximus VI GENE

PSU: SeaSonic X Series X650 Gold

CPU: Intel i5-4670k

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw 2x4GB PC1600

HDD: WD Raptor 500GB

Cooler: C.M. Hyper 212 EVO

Thoughts appreciated.

Heres an updated list.  Only thing I changed was the RAM to sniper series 1866.  Nice site havent ordered anything yet, but a good comparison site.

I would look for an SSD, you would see some great speed boosts with one.

If you wanna spend another $100s to save an extra 5 minutes of your life sure go for it.

I don't know what you currently have or what you'd be using this for, but I'd personally stick with the HDD and save money for a better GPU, a larger or another monitor, etc.

I am currently using a Core 2 Duo E6600 with an asus p5nd.  Video card is a 650ti boost, since I have one already, getting a second and SLI seems to be the most cost effective solution.  Also final list, ordering starts in a few days :D.
