Recently I've got a job... and I believe its time to upgrade my pc now.... Things I wont change(yet) is my Sapphire 7870XT and my ram 8GB 1333.....
I've seen some hardware...but I need your help to choose good stuff... (my budget is max 650 euro)

Case : http://www.aerocool.us/pgs/pgs-b/mechatron_b.htm

Motherboard: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z87 Pro3/ OR http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z87M Pro4/ OR http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z87-G45-GAMING.html#overview or ASROCK Z87M EXTREME4 (which is better?)

SSD: http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/memory-storage/MZ-7PD128BW (does this support Trim? )

CPU: INTEL CORE I5-4670K 3.40GHZ LGA1150 OR INTEL CORE I7-4770K 3.50GHZ LGA1150 (since I use my pc mostly for games...I believe i5 is enough...)

CPU cooler: coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo

what do u think? Pls suggest me more hardware if its better and at same price range...

All modern SSDs support trim.  It's more a function of whether the chipset and OS support trim   :)

With your proposed hardware you've got a green light for trim across the board as long as you're running Windows 7 or Windows 8.

Of the three boards you're considering, personally I'd go for the MSI G45 Gaming board.  Not that I have anything against the ASRock boards.  But for a little more money you get a much better feature set with MSI G45 Gaming board, not to mention it is a killer looking board.

With the G45 you get these extras;

(3) PCIe 3.0 x16 slots - versus only (1) on the ASRock offerings

(4) PCIe x1 slots - versus only (2) or (3) on the ASRock offerings

Realtek ALC1150 - versus Realtek ALC892 on the ASRock offerings

Qualcom Killer E2205 NIC - versus Giga PHY Intel I217V NIC on the ASRock offerings

(1) Coaxial S/PDIF output - versus none on the ASRock offerings

(7) Voltage check points - versus none on the ASRock offerings

If you wanted to save some money you could go with the standard Samsung 840 SSD instead of the Pro model.

What are you doing for a power supply?

exactly why do you believe its time to upgrade your PC?

your specs are fine

I would overclock your 1055 first

intel will give you a nice boost for sure, but if all you are doing is playing video games I dont believe you need an upgrade

dont be one of those silly people who thinks a high benchmark makes you special

you absolutely need an SSD if you dont have one

however, if you can sell your 1055T, you can get about 100$ USD for it, then going intel is a good idea

  • 3 weeks later...

Here we go the debate starts the only thing I would say is two things go with sad if you looking for better gaming keep the CPU and board take your video card up tto a 7950 should be fine and you should definitely stay in budget. Otherwise I would go for a good even ASUS motherboard mafx for instance Rev 2.0 and a fx 8320 either option will absolutely keep you in budget unless you skimp on your board a has well and new mob will cost at least 400-450 that's why unless your going extreme processor and boards Intel is more expensive. Honestly in mho up grade your card you should be good
