F13Bubba Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 My GTX460 has served me well the past few years, but ever since I went from 1600x900 to 1920x1080, and got Witcher 2, and can't play it on anything other than low, I'm itching to do an upgrade. I'm trying not to spend more than $250, but I might go higher if the performance jump is worth the money. Any suggestions?
Bubbaxm2 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Buy one of Bosco's 7970"s. I did and love it.
ir_cow Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 +1 if he has any left. for $250 its a great deal. If you are not a fan of ATi than another good option is geforce 670 / 760 GTX. If you look hard enough you can find them for $250 edit: you can play the Witcher 2 with a GTX 570 and Ati 6950 without AA/AF cranked up @ 1080 just fine and they are really cheap now used. IVIYTH0S Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Between the 760 and 7970 get the 7970 otherwise the 760 will likely be the best you'll get for that budget!

encl0sed Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Don't go with the ATI, I regretted going that way. Get a nice NVidia card and be off with their heads in Bewitcher

You really are a member from 2005 But I've been very happy with my "ATi" cards, equally happy with both companies though their (NVIDIA's) laptop GPUs have given me and my family a lot of trouble on a couple different laptops of ours.
