d6bmg Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 What do you guys think about getting 1 now and maybe another one later? I definitely have enough PSU power. Get one now. Crossfire with AMD cards is kind of on & off experience - works well with some games and doesn't work at all in some games plus the scaling issue. Single HD7950 should be enough for 1080p gaming for at least next 1 year (I think).
ohldboy Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 The 2500K is still a good CPU, Ivy Bridge and Haswell are incremental improvements, more about power savings and non gaming features. 1440p Resolution I think the 7950 would be a big advantage over a 6870 at that price. none of these benchmarks/frame rates are 1440p, anandtech bench, scroll down page http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/540?vs=
IVIYTH0S Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Just because SLI is traditionally better...doesn't mean the 760s won't be sooner Vram starved in SLI, drastically putting a clamp on the potential of their combined cores. The 7950 pair would have far more potential.
