Hello everyone,

Not sure where I could of posted this so I posted it here.

I have an AMD CPU & recently I noticed it's been a bit slow from time to time. I checked BIOS and Cool & Quiet is disabled, but CPU-Z is saying I get 1.4Ghz when I'm idling, Why won't it disable?

I have reset BIOS to defaults, rebooted then re-disabled it and nothing.

I have turned it on, rebooted, turned it off again etc.

It never used to do this.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hey there, First> welcome to OCC, second> help us to help you by listing your system specs, like cpu-mb- memory-os- hd, it's very hard to give advice when we don't know what we are giving advice on.

One piece of advice I would give is check there are no other programs that might be throttling the processor (e.g. Catalyst Control Centre)

Hello, I appear to have fixed it.

I had to overclock.. then un-overclock it haha.

But now it's at 3.7 when i'm sure FX 4100 is meant to be 3.6 haha.

I don't have that program or any that would, but I do have the AMD chipset but it did not install the control centre.

Yeah that is your processor throttling to prevent overheating then, that is separate to cool & quiet
