Everything I have read on the forums etc. say that USB 3 is backwards compatible with USB2.

My USB devices wont work in my new motherboards USB 3 sockets.

Just sayin' ya know!

Is this normal, or does my mobo have a potential problem?

Yes. I had not heard of installing a USB 3 driver. Because it said Asmedia driver I figured (wrongly I guess) that the driver was a media driver of some sort.

Info in manuals is never very good.

^ :haha:  Yes, sometimes names are confusing.

Basic rule: All USB3 controller needs their own driver to work correctly. Generic drivers are there but most of the time those won't work properly, if not at all.
