Rankiz Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 (edited) I am thinking on building a small computer that will be placed in my basement to record cameras, and once or twice a week will be used to stream football games to an projector. So integrated graphic solution will suffice I think. Intel Core i3 3225 seems like the best processor that's cheap and have Intel HD 4000. What do you think of this setup? http://www.prisguide.no/liste/139782 Processor: Intel Core i3 3225 Case: Bitfenix Prodigy Memory Corsair Vengance DDR3-1600 (2x4GB) Power: Corsar CX 430W V2 Mobo: Gigabyte GA-B75N Total: 475$ (I live in Europe, so prices are like 20-30% higher than the US) Edited April 10, 2013 by Rankiz
wevsspot Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Looks like that is a near perfect machine for what you're wanting to do with it.
El_Capitan Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Unless the 3220 isn't that much cheaper, it will also do fine for what you want to use it for (HD2000 vs HD4000).
d6bmg Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 DO you really need that 8GB RAM? A simple PC only to be used for recording purpose should not be needing anything more than 4GB of RAM. I'm saying this because price of RAM have increased a lot and 4GB or 8GB RAM does mater in small configs like the one you are planning to build. Prunes Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 That looks like a really neat system. I tried to see, if I could lower the price, but you could only save about 60skk, which is nothing really. The mobo only got 1 6gbs sata port though. So if you want to have more HDDs hooked up, you need either a pci card that can handle 6gbs sata or you need to settle for 3gbs. I don't think 3gbs would be limiting though, so you should be fine.
