cjloki Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 i have a new ssd coming in and would like to copy my current boot/os/C: drive to it but i'll be darned if i can see how to create backups in win 8,....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... WhenKittensATK Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 (edited) This method works for cloning, backup, and restore. 1. Install Clonezilla (Free) to a CD or USB 2. Boot into Clonezilla 3. Select Clone System Drive (C:) to SSD 4. Wait for it to finish cloning 5. Reboot and set BIOS to boot to SSD 6. Reformat or do whatever you want with your old hard drive =========== I believe M$ took out the old system image backup from Windows 7 in Windows 8 for some reason. Windows 8 only has file backups, rather shameful but things like Clonezilla work much faster anyways.
