kirky_D Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 i did a google on the 'wire trick' and found the below picture of which pins to short. can anyone tell me if they are correct, because i don't want to short the wrong pins and fry my proc. first hand experience would be most helpful. thank you
exeter_acres Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 if you have an already unlocked CPU and you need access to the lower multis, then that should work just fine.. but it will not unlock, the new locked chips...and all the research I have done, leads me to believe that ALL post week39 chips (a couple small exceptions) are locked, no matter what core I could be wrong... but I can't find PROOF that they are unlocked... Does anyone have a RECENT t-bred (did they stop making them?) that the multi is unlocked??
Eva_Unit_0 Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 All the new (post week 39) 2400+ chips are based on the Thornton core, I do believe. I think if he's got a T-bred then it must be unlocked. Also, I could access all multi's except for 10x and 10.5x without doing any mods with my 2400+ (until my multis got messed up, that is)
kirky_D Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 (edited) i swear that it is a thoroughbred week 42 and its locked. my bios says i can change the multi but when i do it has no effect on my clock speed in the pic below i set the multi at 11 to see if it would change anything at all but it hasn't Edited February 19, 2004 by kirky D
