I'll just say it now to get it out of the way: Valve and Xi3.

Valve is here in name only. They have a booth but it was closed off and only there to use the space since they paid for it ahead of time.  Valve is here to meet hardware vendors and that's about it.

Xi3 has a decent booth but if you've seen one picture of their stuff you've seen all they have at the booth.  The sales guys there were just trying to sell it as a modular computing device...

To add to that...we did try to get into Valve...very much so. lol. As waco said, they're really just here to meet with hardware vendors. According to the guy I spoke to, he said it was a last minute decision to attend CES and they simply wanted a "meeting room" in the back, but they were all booked. So instead they took a booth slot and threw something together. Of course, a booth with couches and big screen TVs playing games like TF2 kind of invites everyone to stop by. Spoke to the Valve rep for awhile, but he didn't really say much...just that they're experts at software, but not hardware, so that's why they're meeting with all these companies. The setups in the booth had one of the XI3s and an alienware rig as well, and he said that they're not signing any exclusive deals...whoever wants to work with them, it's up to them to produce the best product, so to speak.

As for XI3 itself, you can check out last CES's write-up for them. Really nothing new to report on so we didn't feel like waiting for a rep to speak to us personally since their definition of "he'll be with you shortly" is apparently much different than ours.

So, what I will say, is all the news sites that reported the Valve/XI3 thing as "Steam Box" is completely, utterly incorrect. XI3 is simply one of many vendors Valve is working with and they haven't settled on any one particular one - and they may never...it may just be a "spec" that companies have to support.

More people pics ...especially booth babes (if they exist at CES) :teehee:

Shame Arcades are pretty much a thing of the past, would love to try the intellect motion thing out.  Wasn't crazy about the In Win stuff like everyone else though the H-Frame would have potential if the plexi-glass was in the retail version and was half the price.   Would prefer that ASUS case over any of the other ones.   Shame no more cases are getting introduced at CES.   Loved the corsair stuff.   Would like to see how well that zalman liquid cooler does.  Was expecting an innovative ASUS laptop/tablet to be introduced.   Something more practical and more powerful than the Razer thing.

First, Booth Babe photos don't get posted until the end, like always, to keep you guys following along

As for the H-Frame price, it's essentially priced that high because it's limited edition and they didn't plan on producing any more...I think he said 10,000 were made?
