Justhavocman Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 I've noticed that the past 5-6 months my RAM usage is unusually high , i currently got Chrome and Skype running and i'm getting 29% RAM usage , i've gone through all the " go to the boot-up processes and check your task manager but the problem still persists , any clue on what's going on? EuroFight Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 (edited) Running a virus scan is always a good idea should you experience high RAM usage Edited January 6, 2013 by EuroFight

Justhavocman Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 29% is high? Seemed high to the untrained eye ( mine )
Enron x86 Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Mine's exactly the same. 8 gigs, running Chrome with about 10 tabs open and 2 small programs in the background. Windows 8 x64, uptime 31 days, 12 hrs, 6 mins.
DanTheGamer11 Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 I'm using 1.85GB out of 4GB so I'm at less than 29%

Boinker Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Mine sits around 12-15% so that would equal out as I have 16 gigs. Makes sense to me. When I ran 6 gigs usual idle ram usage was about 25-30%
IVIYTH0S Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 (edited) I'm using 1.85GB out of 4GB so I'm at less than 29% no your not hahaha I'm using 1.85GB out of 4GB so I'm at less than 29% That's almost 50%. I think he meant less than 29% aware of how to correctly calculate percentages lol But yeah, that RAM usage seems just fine, the more RAM you give windows the more it will precache your most use applications in for your so things run smoother/faster. I'm at about 2.85GB/16.4GB (my computer likes to use or lose 2GB of my memory whenever it feels like it) so I'm at a little over 17% Edited January 6, 2013 by IVIYTH0S
