Mangar Posted February 21, 2004 Posted February 21, 2004 That is a marketing strategy whereby Microsoft is not really providing the CDs for free, but instead pushing the CDs to tempt some ppl to try the additional software. It's kind of what AOL does with sending their AOL CDs in the mail to everybody on GOD's green earth! Yea, I agree. I also ordered one, if nothing else it will make a pretty coaster for my coffee cup. The service pack i was referring to is now called SP1a, and the differences between 1 and 1a can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=813926 This is what i found about SP2: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default....rityinxpsp2.asp I didn't read it cause it's really long, and frankly i don't care since it's not out yet. lol. But knock yourself out There's tons of articles out there about SP2...i just decided to post the one straight from MS. There's something about MS wanting to first update Windows Update....Windows Update 5, before they release SP2...not sure why, but you can probably find out if you do a little google work...and supposedly that won't happen 'til the end of this year...so by then, maybe we'll all have 64bit chips and running longhorn so who cares. heh Share this post Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
