kyfire Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Well seems my 8400GS died. Was playing Metro 2033 and bang black screen, still heard music and sound from game but not video. Powered off monitor and turned it back on and still no video. Shut down system, removed card and reverted to onboard graphics Rebooted and all's good except there was an error message regarding a "video componet failure" Waiting to see if Evga will RMA the card. EuroFight Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Poor 8400GS...you sure it isn't the slot or something else? If it has died, it's an old(ish) card so don't feel too bad
El_Capitan Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 If you can't RMA it, put it in the oven!

EuroFight Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I've been playing Metro 2033 recently, and I swear there's some guy sitting there at THQ trying desperately to make me crap myself while playing that game

Wil be glad when I get my new system after the first of the year.

Boinker Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Remove the saved files of metro from your os to a thumb drive. They files are located in the games for windows or in the document cluster somewhere.

SpikeSoprano Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I don't think they will send you another 8400, do they still make them, you might end up with a better card.
kyfire Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Not sure if the 8400 GS is still available but they did say if they didn't have that card they'd send one of equal or higher value.
