Stonerboy779 Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I understand wanting to be able to have the capability to run all your gear on wither wall in a bedroom but do you need to have internet connection on two walls of a dining room..... if i had even one lan connection in my dining room it would be too much, let alone 4. Back to rooms though you obviously aren't going to be in them all and kids will have their rooms now do they really need to have a laptop, pc, xbox and smart tv in each of their rooms? could they not make do with one port and wireless. To me it just looks like you are wasting a metric shit ton of money on a whimsy. Also looking at the master bedroom there really only appears to be one wall where you could reasonably place a bed but you still want 4 ports there bringing your master bedroom up to 12 hardwired ports and wifi. There's NO chance that'll slow anything you do on the Internet. You might see a slowdown if you try to transfer large files to both machines at the same time but only if your source computer(s) can saturate a gigabit line to both machines at the same time anyway... what about a lan party? Modem to router, then however you want past that as long as you don't have more routers. Unless you have DHCP on the second router turned off it makes things a bit of a pain. I'm surprised you can print from the networked printer from your second PC and laptop the way you have it now (unless you already jumped through the hoops to get it working).
