aaron6581230 Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 In your program settings (under manage 3D settings) in the Nvidia Control Panel, you can set it so when you run Folding at Home, it defaults to using the nvidia chip rather than onboard
DanTheGamer11 Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 you can't disable optimus. But you can set a preferred gpu.
SpeedCrazy Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 How do I get my laptop to use mygtx 650 for folding? It defaults to my on board graphics. Set the gpu_1 flag. Onboard is probably gpu_0 so that ought to fix it.
IVIYTH0S Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Disable Optimus? You can try but Megatron's been trying and failing for years with no luck
Onion Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Set the gpu_1 flag. Onboard is probably gpu_0 so that ought to fix it. How do I do that? Just add "gpu_1" to the local client command space?
Onion Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 (edited) I just forced the client to run with my GTX 650, but I don't think its working properly. No progress on one of the work units. ID 00 is running but 0.00% progress and unknown eta for a 2400 credit WU. ID 01 is running, 2.50% with 4 hours eta for a 1000 credit WU. I'm guessing ID 00 is the GPU and its having an issue? Edit: Never mind. It just jumped to 1.5% all of a sudden. 13 hour ETA on that first WU, is that normal? Seems like its not running off the GTX 650 for it to take that long.
