Coors Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 What benefits would I get from rooting and a custom rom?
bishop245 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Getting different apps and functionality would be my best guess
Stonerboy779 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Better use of battery, ram and SD card. Customized II to add more features or improved features. Basically you nearly always can end up with a more efficient phone or in this case MP3 player that will have custom kernels etc that will let it use it's recources in quicker and more efficient ways. Apparently you can even get the galaxy player to run in tablet mode and it seemingly goes well with apex launched or something and you can run tablet apps if you really should so desire. Coors Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 So far so good. Only played the default songs and video with the built in speakers so far while it's charging but it sounded and looked good. I'd say it's about the perfect size I was expecting. Not too big or small and fits nicely in the hand (inb4thatswhatshesaid). I just wish I could have ordered it in black. Not a big fan of white electronics. Just seems feminine like white sunglasses or Apple products .

Coors Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 It's pretty similar to my phone. Ever used an Android based smartphone? It's pretty much identical feeling.
