So this is DIY installation? I thought that as soon as you went behind the power points you needed an electrician to do it?

Looks like a decent product either way

in Australia you are meant to have a sparkie sign off on everything  which means it would be hard to sell our home haha

I don't know about where you are, but here I believe you can install them and technically you are supposed to have it inspected if you do anything other than change them out. (pull new wires, add connections etc)

thanks Bishop :)

If you are confident enough, then why not?

Stupid stuff that requires a qualified tradesman to sign off on work.

may be different in the states but in Australia you need quilified trades people signing off on all sorts of work. Doesn't mean you can't do it yourself but of you do its going to make it hard if you ever want to sell.

Granted swapping a power point isn't going to ever be noticed running new power cuircits etc will

^^ Listening to this for the first time. In both the places I've lived (i.e states & india), there is no such thing.

If the fact that it may not fit all receptacle boxes is the only thing stopping it from getting gold then for $1.96 at Home depot you can get a "cut in box" that is also super simple to install.

You can get them at different depths so if you have more then 1 line and or load coming and going with 12 gauge wires ya need a bit more space as well. For those that dont know Line is the power coming in and Load is the continuation of the run or power going out. (insert old dirty electricians joke) the line goes in and the load comes out :)
