I'll look into those two ASUS sound cards. Last I looked only their Essence STX had it (years ago haha).

 

Update:

Going to get the Xonar DG. Found them used for $15, since the $20 AMIR deals don't include the $5 shipping by both Newegg and Microcenter. Amazon doesn't, but then again $15 without waiting for rebate :P

 

Also going to try out those Panasonic RP-HTF600-S + Velour pads to see what the fuss is about. $67 shipped (got $10 amazon credit coming in a few days and my Corsair $20 MIR should be coming soon as well).

 

Why did I have go post in this thread :( I'll take it out of my gas money, only have to drive to campus 2 days vs 4-5 like the past semesters.

 

Depends on the onboard sound. Mine have absolutely zero noise or distortion...so what would I get from a better sound card? :teehee:

More gold plating and a fancy heat spreader cover.
