Human Resource Manager

CQW Financial Corporation LTD

The company claims to be based at 55 Wall Street, New York City. Their application process seems pretty professional, if not a little quick... The only problem is that a google search for the company name brings up no hits. Through their documentation they disclosed their website to be cqwfincorp.com, and again the website seems pretty well tailored.

I spoke with the manager via the phone and it seems that I'm expected to participate in a distant (or at-home) 10 day training program in which they will pay me a whopping £30 a day for two hours of my time, AND cover any other expenses such as travel and resources. They've made no attempt to extrapolate any details that could cause them to withdraw money from me... If anything they only seem interested in paying me.

This is so incredibly weird. I've spoken to someone who claims to be from the company (a Mr. Paul Brown, reachable at phone number 020 3239 8697) who seemed to have a strange accent somewhere between African and American, I honestly couldn't tell. And basically I'm supposed to start the training tomorrow morning.

So a company with little-to-no public profile has contacted me directly and is offering to pay me ludicrous amounts of money simply for training alone, are also offering to cover expenses and aren't asking for a penny in return, and are promising me employment in London afterwards. You can see why I'm so wary.

I'm attaching all documentation as well. There's every detail I've been asked to fill in and also the job description and details on the training process... Tell me what you think?

Thank you very much guys. This is fairly urgent so opinions would be greatly valued!

Never heard of the company, Google turned up nothing. But if you can make some cash, then go for it, but be careful.

Also 55 Wall Street, New York City, is not a company, it's a apartment building.

So here's what I think is fishy about it:

1.Offer email is very poorly written

2.No traces of the website on google

3.Upon closer inspection of the source for the webiste, everything looks static (This should be pulled live from a different source, not static):

The ticker on bottom for example:

4. The server is hosted in california, which is again, weird.

I say don't risk it. But then again, I'm paranoid.

If you run a webpage lookup to ip address it points to 98.139.135.21 and then run that through an ip address lookup it points to a host name sbsfe-a.geo.vip.bf1.yahoo.com....

So if cqwfincorp.com points to 98.139.135.21 then 98.139.135.21 should point back to cqwfincorp.com not something at yahoo in Sunnyvale California.

in short i would not trust anything from them.

IMO, they are trying to get your personal information... In order to do "Background checks" and all that, they are going to ask for all your personal information, which is all they need to completely steal your identity.

You sorta had me until

I've spoken to someone who claims to be from the company (a Mr. Paul Brown, reachable at phone number 020 3239 8697) who seemed to have a strange accent somewhere between African and American, I honestly couldn't tell.

It seems a majority of scam crap has some elements or ties to africa lol, ask him if he's a prince next time you talk to him.

I'd just troll him/them and don't give anything important out, give them fake info and then just have a ball.
