potatochobit Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 lol, you have to pay an extra 60$ for them to check for dead pixels before shipping by all means, order one. I am very curious I order 2-5 packages of toys a month to ship from japan and china the packages always arrive roughed up I had a large hole in a package from canada one time I sure would hate to send a monitor through overseas shipping I wonder if these are B-grade LG or Samsung monitor panels some small company is buying in bulk
Puck Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 (edited) I have had one of those Korean IPS screens for a while now. Get the "pixel perfect" one for sure. I got the PCBank pixel perfect one for 300 shipped. Mine had minimum backlight bleed, no dead pixels, and no dust. Very nice screen The stand sucks though, and no HDMI. I will link to my quick review tomorrow cuz I'm on my cell right now... ::edit:: yes, they are LG panels normally ~$900+ Edited August 10, 2012 by Puck

wevsspot Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 All the inexpensive 27" IPS monitors that I've seen or read about have been using LG B-panels and they are shipping from S.Korea. As mentioned earlier, spring for the dead pixel check and you should be good to go. The only thing they are doing in S.Korea is assembly. All of the internals are being sourced from mainland China - just about like everything else is anymore.
