Codemasters has just announced GRID 2 for the PC, PS3, and 360. It will release sometime in 2013.

GRID 2 seeks to bring excitement back to "street, track and road racing," with the next-gen Ego Game Technology Platform powering graphics, AI, handling, and damage advancements. The TrueFeel Handling System will try to strike that perfect balance between real and simulation.

Racing takes place in Asia, Europe, and North America, with Paris, Chicago, Abu Dhabi, Miami, and the California coast confirmed so far. Racing will be on licensed tracks, city streets, and mountain roads, so we should be getting a little of everything.

I loved the drifting aspect of GRID, for as little content as the drifting had it was fun as hell.

Wasn't much into the roadracing to be honest and the demolition was fun, i hope they expand on those two the most.

:P

It's about bloody time. Hopefully it'll be far better than the last garbage they released earlier this year under the DiRT franchise. I also hope they take it easy on the drifting aspect, I for one wouldn't mind if they excluded it altogether. It'll also make a change from playing that Old Scrolls vs Rimjob game that's starting to wear thin but I'll just have to wait & see.

It's understandable that many people probably didn't like it but IMO it was a great game in its own way. It was something you could whip out and just have fun with it was never intended to be serious or technical. I mean seriously you could whip out a perfect drift with ease and there was no speedo to be seen at all haha

It was different not garbage but understandably it was too different for some :)

You're right but I was so disappointed with it I had nothing but contempt for it. I felt DiRT 3 (a great game imo) was spoiled by the gymkhana side of things & although not difficult to play I just couldn't get finished with it fast enough.

  • 1 month later...

It's here at Eurogamer, I'll give you my thoughts when I get round to playing

Edit: It looks good, there is tonnes of detail, for example, crowds are very well animated, and the concept looks good. It's hard to comment on the graphics as I would expect a lot more post-processing etc, and it will obviously be polished before release
