i5-3570k running wild hot!

Recommended Posts

I bough my i5-3570k together with Asus Z77-M pro. using stock cooler; idle is averaging 42-47c and at full load it bumps to 77-83c with default no oc  is this is ok? or should i buy a decent cooler or this is the time for water cooling!? also while assembled it i noticed that the thermal paste is quite little ( i compared it to my atlon 64 x2 5000+ way back 5yrs ago when it was plenty of paste). :whistling:

is this the reason? or should i buy some paste like arctic or nuctua thermal paste?

My second issue is when i manage to use the pre-oc of this mobo (called oc tuner or tpu switch)...first it manage a 4.2ghz oc and stable in the 1st place ;);) but when i played games like black ops the game was crashed and a blue screen of death appears... i suspect my memory...how about you guy? if someone have same issue like this pls. :D inform me.. :thx:thumb.gif

I'd say it might be your 2GB or RAM if you are running windows 7 that might have made it crash like that but it is combined to other things cause the game would have normally just closed because out of memory.

IB does run very hot but usually they run lower than that on stock voltages.. It's kinda odd IMO..

Check your BIOS settings and revert CPU settings to stock.. Maybe install a newer BIOS revision if any.

If you're thinking of overclocking, an aftermarket cooler is definitely a must and worthy investment.

As for your BSOD issue, take note of your Error code when it occurs. I suspect you're limited by your 2GB RAM but I don't think it'd cause a BSOD.

As recommended earlier, capture the BSOD error code and post it up here. Since you are overclocking when the BSOD occurs then I suspect that it may be one or a combination of three things; instability of the overclock, low ram, excessive heat.

Make sure your heatsink is seated properly! Those stock Intel coolers can be a little tricky sometimes, they look like they are on completely but if you give it a gentle tug, it will pop one or two of the corners off, just make sure its snug on there.

I'm running an i5 3570k on asus p8z77-v deluxe with 16gig 16000 ram. I'm having the same blue screen issues every time I open a program. Started with DayZ now it's even crashing with chrome. I'm getting the error code memory_managment 0x0000001a, ntoskrnl.exe+7f1co and Ntfs.sys+a4990 crashes. I'm running stock bios. Going to start checking the ram then move to the cpu. Anyone think this could be an issue with the new ivy bridge processors?

ps. I also have heating issues running around 70c+

Ok i pulled 2 sticks of RAM bringing me down to 8gigs and no crashes yet. Played DayZ, which had started the blue screens, and none so far. Going to play a few more games and system checks to see what happens.

I swapped out the sticks and had a crash while in DayZ. Had a window pop up saying "The instruction at 0xfba538dg referenced memory at 0x000006b4..." blue screen popped while i was reading.
