Anyone of you car buff's of OCC into drifting? I'm currently in the process of getting coil overs and BBS RS replica wheels for my E30 to finally slam my car. evilgrin.gif

I'd thought I'd share a cool video of the Slammed Society meet in Long Beach from this year.

I like it, I've got the wrong car. I can still get sideways, but it's not the same. It's also hard to do with brand new nitto 555s 285.

Why slam it? It's hardly driveable, and I'm sure waco agrees even though he has a Miata. I'm 5 inches of the ground at the bumper and a bit less in other places and it's a huge pain.

Cuz it's all about style man.. people on the east coast have no style. They think driving a stock G37s coupe automatically makes them bamf or something.

It's all about originality man. What's the point of having a sick ride if you can't be unique? Slammed and cambered cars is JDM/Euro thing anyway.

I have a drifting / drag track about 5 miles from my place so i qiute often amble down there on a Saturday afternoon to watch my son compete. I only go there to lend him support & help with the services. I prefer the drags myself (he does that as well) but drifting is fun although I couldn't stand playing it in DiRT 3

Being 18 I'd love to get into drifting. Hell I'm looking at a sweet deal on a BMW 850i, can afford the car, the insurance but I need to calculate fuel costs on it. Shame the ricer scene in the UK doesn't look as big or as cool as the Long Beach video!

Slamming a car with stupid amounts of camber isn't unique...it's stupid.

I'm going to do a REAL drop on my car that retains the proper suspension geometry and travel.

I agree that while slamming the car aggresively and having camber is sick, I have grown out of it and found that it is a pain to go over speedbumps and etc.

I had an Rx7 FC a while back, with coilovers dropping it really low. Having to go on my driveway sideways everyday, it gets pretty annoying haha. Was a sexy car...had to sell it for school :(

I just put on coilovers to get that extra slammed look, not really to go into drifting. Now I realize that I could have gotten some lowering springs and struts and maybe I could have had a more comfortable ride LOL

This was when I finally raised the car a little bit, and without spacers. God I miss this car D:

I love the FCs. Great platform!

Oh dear god 1:59 my eyes are bleeding. That's absurdly useless and disgustingly ugly and just...just...agh. Breathe.

^This

I've always enjoyed getting sideways and doing donuts and stuff, but the drift crowd around here are not my type. It's all, "JDM tYtE y0 it's got VTAK and woah i liek that hellaflush and that camber its hot and wee turbo and blow off valve VROOM PSH its tyte yo". The only reason I would go there now would be to roast some tires in front of the SR fanboys who don't give the KA any credit ;)

I hope to find a good crowd/venue to drift one day. If I do I'll probably keep my S13 and turn it into a drift slut and make videos like these:

^Not one ounce of a damn was given on that day.

Video #1 in this thead: WTF is wrong with these people...

Video #2 in this thread: Awesome. :D

I mean...the whole first video...all I could think about was the fact that the suspension geometry was completely screwed on every single car in the video minus one or two.

Yeah my ride was stiff as a raging boner. Even though I didnt drift with it, I tracked it a few times.

front strut bar, rear strut bar, lower tie bar and semi-solid diff bushings haha

FCs are indeed a great platform...so easy to work on, and just overall good looking.
