and for the Poster who said they want a Dictatorship....???? have you really looked around you... they call this a Democracy but its anything but that... we truly live in a Dictatorship society.

I don't think we're quite a Dictatorship, though I do understand where someone might get that idea, seeing as how we're headed into a nanny state ideal. As for being a Democracy, that's entirely true, we're a Republic, not a Democracy.

I can agree with that... we have the right to vote and elect in who we vote for but from there on they make all the rules...

That's why they have term limits, so when they don't follow what their constituents want they don't get re-elected.

They also have another job: to know better than the general public. Just take a look around your town; there are a lot of misinformed or otherwise stupid people I'm guessing. Now, think about every town, city, or metropolis, and how many misinformed or stupid people are in those. Elected officials are there to take the burden of knowledge off of the shoulders of the people. Can they be bought? Sure, but than you get the scenario that Scott Walker is in.

Well, this is interesting

Regardless of what people are capable or incapable of recognizing there are always different views on how things should be done. Some people want a nanny state, others don't.

But yes, in general most people are incapable of voting for the best candidate. That's probably why in the last presidential race we could choose from either Obama or McCain.

1. If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations.
-Agree, although I think it should serve the corporations as well.

2. I'd always support my country, whether it was right or wrong.
-Strongly Disagree, If I think something is wrong, I'm not gonna support it.

3. No one chooses his or her country of birth, so it's foolish to be proud of it.
-Agree, although I don't think there is anything wrong with being proud of it.

4. Our race has many superior qualities, compared with other races.
-Disagree, but I guess it depends on what the comparisons are

5. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
-Disagree, he might be the enemy that my other enemy will help me defeat.

6. Military action that defies international law is sometimes justified.
-Agree, I could see this happening depending on the circumstances.

7. There is now a worrying fusion of information and entertainment.
-Strongly Agree, I think that most news sources have become purely entertainment, and I think that needs to change.

8. People are ultimately divided more by class than by nationality.
-Agree, I don't care how much money you make, or the color of your skin.., but I think class is more of a separation now.

9. Controlling inflation is more important than controlling unemployment.
-Disagree, but I think they go hand in hand. In my opinion more jobs is equal to less inflation.

10. Because corporations cannot be trusted to voluntarily protect the environment, they require regulation.
-Strongly Disagree, I hate the idea of regulations. If you want to go out and open a business, you should be able to go out and open a business.

11."from each according to his ability, to each according to his need" is a fundamentally good idea.
-Strongly Disagree, Screw that, I don't think things should be fair and I don't think everyone is equal. I also think it is wrong to take something (In this case money) from someone else (Even if they didn't do any work to receive that money) and give it to someone else. Life wasn't meant to be easy, if it was no one would do anything. Besides, if it was easy, accomplishing anything (no matter what it is) wouldn't feel as good.

12. It's a sad reflection on our society that something as basic as drinking water is now a bottled, branded consumer product.
-Disagree, First of all, where I live you can't even drink the water so bottled/purified water is a necessity. Second of all, if someone is able to put sand in a bag, put a label on it, and actually sell it.., well, I think that person deserves the money!

13. Land shouldn't be a commodity to be bought and sold.
-Disagree, I think you should be able to own land, and when you do own it, you should be able to do whatever you want with it. No HOA's, No Regulations, it's your property, do whatever you want with it. (As long as it's not hurting someone else that is)

14. It is regrettable that many personal fortunes are made by people who simply manipulate money and contribute nothing to their society.
-Disagree, I don't think you should be able to inherit money. I believe that you should work for everything you own.., However, if you are smart enough to make money by manipulating money, you deserve it. As long as you earned the initial funds.

15. Protectionism is sometimes necessary in trade.
-Agree, only because I think tariff's can be used to save the economy.

16. The only social responsibility of a company should be to deliver a profit to its shareholders.
-Agree, I agree and disagree on this one. I don't think there should be any restrictions to a companies social responsibilities, but I also don't think anything should be forced onto them.

17. The rich are too highly taxed.
-Strongly Agree, Why should someone be taxed a higher percentage just because they earn more money? I think that yes the rich should be giving a larger amount of money, but the percentage should be the same as everyone else.

18. Those with the ability to pay should have the right to higher standards of medical care .
-Disagree, I think medical care should be less expensive so that more people can actually pay. There is no reason why medical bills go so often unpaid, lower the cost so more people can actually pay there bills and in the end the hospitals and what not will get more revenue.., or is there something I'm missing here? And why on earth do I have to pay so much before an insurance company actually starts to pay anything?

19. Governments should penalise businesses that mislead the public.
-Disagree, I don't think businesses should mislead the public, but I also think that it is the public's responsibility to think for themselves.

-Agree, I don't think monopolies should exist.

21. The freer the market, the freer the people.

-Disagree, I don't think abortions are moral at all, but I also believe in choice.

23. All authority should be questioned.
-Strongly Agree, Unless you're just completely brain dead. People in a position of authority are still just people. Their brains work just like other people's brains. They are just as corrupt, greedy, and opinionated as every other person on the planet.

24. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.
-Disagree, We all do it, but it still doesn't get us anywhere. However, if someone starts a war with us.., destroy them!

25. Taxpayers should not be expected to prop up any theatres or museums that cannot survive on a commercial basis.
-Agree, why would you create a business that just drains money?

26. Schools should not make classroom attendance compulsory.
-Disagree, I think the education system needs to change, but students should still be required to go to class throughout highschool.

27. All people have their rights, but it is better for all of us that different sorts of people should keep to their own kind.

29. It's natural for children to keep some secrets from their parents.
-Agree, It's just natural to keep secrets

30. Possessing marijuana for personal use should not be a criminal offence.
-Strongly Agree, Really, why is it still illegal. It's a plant that grows everywhere, I've never known a single person who gets violent when they're stoned, It's only caused like six deaths (Compare that to Alcohol), and who still really cares at this point. I even know cops that smoke it currently.

-Disagree, They need to learn to accept discipline, but it's certainly not the most important thing.

34.There are no savage and civilised peoples; there are only different cultures.
-Agree, It's true. By the definition of savage yeah there are savage cultures, but really it's just a different culture.

35. Those who are able to work, and refuse the opportunity, should not expect society's support.
-Strongly Agree, Look, if you're not going to do anything, then don't expect to get anything. People say that Marijuana makes you lazy. No, stupidity, arrogance, and a false sense of entitlement make people lazy.

36. When you are troubled, it's better not to think about it, but to keep busy with more cheerful things.
-Agree, Stay positive, be grateful for what you have as well as the things you don't have to worry about. Know that while you fantasize about that person you saw the other day, there is someone out there fantasizing about you as well.

37. First-generation immigrants can never be fully integrated within their new country.
-Disagree, If someone works hard enough, they can do whatever they want.

38. What's good for the most successful corporations is always, ultimately, good for all of us.
-Disagree, When has something that is good for one person ever been good for everyone?

39. No broadcasting institution, however independent its content, should receive public funding.
-Agree, If you give a broadcasting institution funding they will appeal to the people giving them money, or the people they want money from.

-Agree, Our civil liberties are being excessively curbed in the name of many things.

-Disagree, yeah maybe the wrongdoers are the only ones that can get in trouble, but I don't particularly want anyone in my business.

43. The death penalty should be an option for the most serious crimes.
-Agree, Absolutely, why should a serial murder be allowed to stay alive?

44. In a civilised society, one must always have people above to be obeyed and people below to be commanded.
-Agree, Government is good.., but small government.

45. Abstract art that doesn't represent anything shouldn't be considered art at all.
-Strongly Disagree, Art is whatever the people think is art.., no single person can decide what is actually art.

46. In criminal justice, punishment should be more important than rehabilitation.
-Agree, But only if the crime was premeditated.

47. It is a waste of time to try to rehabilitate some criminals.
-Strongly Agree, If someone has raped and killed 10 people, there isn't much you can do to rehabilitate them. Besides, why would you even want to.

48. The businessperson and the manufacturer are more important than the writer and the artist.
-Strongly Disagree, No one is equal, but no one is more important than any other person.

I took that political compass quiz a long time ago, and while it isn't bad, a lot of the questions are very generic. This is a much better quiz here: http://www.ontheissues.org/Quiz/Quiz2010.asp?quiz=Pres2012

This one is geared towards the issues (and is actually quite informative on all of them) and compares your answers to those of other candidates from whichever election you choose.

That one you need to read the descriptions on. Some of them were not what I would have gone with had I not read the description.

And I'm a Libertarian-Leaning Conservative according to that one.
