How to ship a X58 CPU

Recommended Posts

I've even used a paper towel wrapped around the CPU with some tape and then put it in a bubbled envolepe with some newspapers to pack it tightly. It's really hard to mess up an LGA based CPU. DIY FTW.

And the worst packing award goes to .......

I've always shipped my LGA CPUs with 2 layers of pink static dissipative bubble wrap in a thick envelope. Never had a problem.

Unfortunately I have to ship my Noctua Nh-D14 WITH my 950 and I think the mail man would just laugh an point fingers at me if I put it in an envelope.

Hey who suggested static bags? Ya stop with the funny answers. Static bags you rubbed in your hair should be stuck on the wall, so your loved ones can come by and tell you to clean up the room.

CPUs are sensitive to static...

I guess this is why INTEL and AMD DO NOT USE A STATIC BAG.

AMD and INTEL ship me chips in a small box and foam in the small box......... Foam conducts a lot of static electricity. Just use a small jewelry box and line it with foam. Use the method that Intel and AMD uses or maybe they do not know what they are doing?

The foam they use doesn't conduct static all that well.

If you don't have the original packing a using static bag is worth the minimal cost and effort involved for the extra measure of safety. I don't know about you, but I like to ship things so they arrive in working order.

You tested it with your static tester? Waco you still have a hard on. Quit taking Viagra. Your blow up doll needs a rest.

Foam conducts static period and AMD and INTEL both ship with a box and foam. NO static bag. read above 1 more time....LOL
