Deciding two new cards

Recommended Posts

:pfp: What is it with you and SLI? You will see a hell of a lot more performance out of a 680. If you can really afford a 680, then I suggest you get it.

Edit: and stop creating so many threads.

1920x1080 doesn't need 4 GB of RAM.

On Skyrim with all the textures mod and what not it is needed... My 570 is at 1250mb and Skyrim wants to use waaayyyy over that. 1920x1080. I get stuttering outside when it reaches the limit.

2 GB should be enough though. :P

+1 , I didnt even touch the full 2Gb's of my 6970 at 1920x1080 games maxed out

3Gb or 4Gb cards are really for 2560x1600 else they are overkill

You waste money that you could've spent on something else that gives you more performance. If you only use 1.5Gb max and get a 4Gb card instead of 2Gb, you wont get any performance over the 2Gb card for the extra $100

I'd rather have too much then too little... If you swap out your gfx cards every 6months or so it wouldnt matter as much, on the other hand if you want to use them for a couple years... better longevity with the ones with more ram..
