No Longer Going Offline

Recommended Posts

Had originally inserted a small edit note, and put a strike-through on most of the post.

But so far 2 people have asked "I thought you were going offline" a couple days after I updated things, so I'm just erasing and re-doing this whole post:

I'm not going offline anymore. I AM living with my brother for a little while. He has internet access, and was fine with me bringing my computer with me: He's using an old, slow laptop so it's a welcome upgrade to use in the meantime. It's set up in the kitchen, I sleep in an army cot in the bathroom, or on the recliner in the living room. Whichever I hope will hurt my back less that night.

Didn't expect any of my family to help when i first made this thread: I spent my childhood homeless and barely knew them. A couple of years back I did something crazy to help my brother get this house, he remembered that and so invited me here to live for a few weeks until I find a new place for me, the gf, and the stepdaughter.

Is the no visitors thing only over night or up to like 10pm or something? If it's no visitors period what the heck kind of internment camp is your GF living in? lol

Sorry to hear about your situation though.

It's no visitors period. She pays her own rent, but the place was 'reserved' for her by the government. much like section 8 or subsidized housing, but without the lowered income requirement. It's a special thing for families in crysis she got when her father died in the military and her family lost the house. but because of that, you are allowed to have absolutely zero visitors without prior written permission. They don't limit it to single days, but the individual is allowed to visit for anytime in the week written, and beyond that they need reapproval. You are only allowed 2 weeks per person in a 1 year period, to avoid people "living off you for free".

Step one, kill that intruding bastard. Step 2 kill the uppity people who seem to have a cactus shoved up their butt. Step 3, put all the bodies in a refrigerator. Step 4, lite the fridge on fire and kick it off a tall cliff. Step 5, evil laugh.

Seriously though, I would file suit against the people in control of your girlfriends housing. Even Charles Manson was able to get visitors while in prison. I SERIOUSLY doubt it is legal to make that type of a rule. I could see it where you aren't allowed to live there, but no visitors at all ?????? That seems a bit..........stupid.

Don't think I haven't wanted to.. Trust me man, it makes me angrier than anything. you have NO idea the amount of dumb rules beyond just this.

But.. I've found a step towards a solution: I'm going to go stay with my brother for 2 weeks. in that time, i'm going to find a place for me, the girlfriend, and her daughter (she's wanted out of here forever, this is the kick to make it happen.)

Jason 9brother) owes me his life, literally. So letting me sleep on his floor aint a big deal for 2 weeks.

Have almost $3k in emergency savings i don't want to spend. but got no choice now, gonna have to use it.

That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard in my entire life, and I now believe that every single politician should die a slow and painful death.

Live off other people for free????????? Isn't that a tiny itsy bitsy MASSIVELY hypocritical? Doesn't the same government who invoked that rule let millions of people live off them for free? Lets see, how many billions of dollars does our government collect? How much of that goes to needless military (meaning military applications that have absolutely no use in combat or in defense i.e. decorative swords, fancy patches, and pretty much anything else that really doesn't effect anything) crap, how much of it goes to handouts to companies who don't need it, and for god sakes, HOW MUCH OF IT GOES TO NEW GOVERNMENT CELL PHONES????????????????

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

You are telling me that with all the bull . government pulls by use of our tax money, that they can not let people living in welfare housing have VISITORS??????????????????????

Thats it, I am joining Anonymous

Love your enthusiasm: I'm not the only one this gives an aneurism, good to know. It baffles me. And btw, it's not welfare housing: She works a job and pays full rent, the only thing the government did was put her here in the first place. She's had to pay everything from first month and security deposit. the visitor rule is just plain "because" honestly, the false logic they'd use to explain it it total BS and nothing to even do with money.

Btw, 11PM tonight I have a ride to get my butt out of here.

Oh and about going apecrap: I've stepped on a lot of toes today. Decided since I have no ties to these people after 11PM: I was going to finally say and do the things I haven't been able to for almost 6 months. A lot of people are now angry at me or afraid of me. Mostly the types that start subtle drama because they know you're too responsible to react.

So yes, Tjj Angel: I finally got to blow the lid in a bunch of people, and I'm glad I did.

Keep that money in reserve, find a new place. Take care of your family dude! It sounds dreadful where they are at now...

I have read some of your posts here, and you remind me a lot of one of my friends. He had a lot of the same issues you had as a kid, He struggles to make his way within society. He refuses to get a job, and insists on working for himself... I am all for the Entrepreneur spirt, but you have to take care of yourself, and family first... Sometimes it takes sucking up your pride and getting a shotty job to make ends meet....

As for the curent leasing thing you do, that is a lot of risk for you to take on. If someone doesn't pay your left paying it, frankly the risk outweighs the reward if you ask me.

I would just squat and try to get the media involved some how. That is flat out BS and the government has dicked around with too many people for too long.

Let me tell you what is now ringing in my head. Probably close to 11 years ago my dad came back from his government job with a new black berry. It was nice, but no big deal right? 2 months later, he brings back a brand new black berry. So get this the reason he had it was because if his department (DHS) spends more money than their set budget for the year, then the next years budget will increase. So they find stupid . to buy, so that they can have an even bigger budget next year. Here is the kicker, if they do not needlessly waste the money, their budget shrinks. So it is not a budget based on logic and reason, but instead it is based on being complete douche bags.

Can you explain to me how the government can just waste money left and right, but they can't at least let people have visitors in their own home??????? I mean seriously, what is the worst it will do? People will seek to live in the house for free??? Well guess what, chances are the house is not pretty, and chances are the people who are living in that house for free, probably can't afford housing of their own. It does not sound like you (the OP) seem to be living the high life, and are probably a welfare recipient yourself right? If so, wouldn't it be better for the government to let two welfare recipients live under the same roof? Wouldn't that just simply be considered "consolidating"??????????

As lewis black puts it, We are red, white, and screwed.

Tjj: I get what you're saying, but I'm not a welfare recipient. I make $1,200 a month average with what I'm doing now, girlfriend makes about $680 a month working her part time job rebuilding broken tech for resale at a small shop.

So we're not rich, but for our ages we're doing pretty good. Full time job around here typically has take home pay of about $1,200- so I'm right there with that.

But yeah, I do refuse to work some crappy job: not for the same reasons as most people, but because every payroll I've ever been on where I was at the bottom of the employment foodchain: They promoted laziness. If you weren't slow and dumb you didn't advance, and it's completely against what I can tolerate. Not to mention, what I've been doing has been working for me: I only lease to people I know personally: And many times I've turned people down who I know won't pay me, doesn't matter if you're my friend I'm not going broke over you. Had 6 late payment in several years, because I'm careful about who I put my name on.

Also, I have $690 a month in disability through the Army I get for my broken leg and spine. So that puts my monthly income equal to someone who works about 60 hours a week. However, I am NOT living the high life mostly due to complications with living arrangements: I've never been able to replace the acr i lsot a few years ago, and taking buses or walking makes productivity and good living a bit of a stretch. Hard to get things done that I need to get done.

The emergency savings was intended to be save dup until about 5k, where we'd allot 3k of that to a car. But we're going to have to spend a big chunk of it now to find a new place.

Well you can take some of that for a security deposit. I would still keep it in the bank though and out of touch incase something happens like she loses her job, or your income is slashed. They say you should have a few months of rent saved up before you get a place just incase something happens. Keep building that savings...

I make about $600 a month right now as apart time intern, and let me tell you there is no way I could live off just that. My car payments and insurance alone take up about 90% of my monthly income right now. I am finishing up school though and starting to think about a real job. For a decent apartment your looking at least $600-700 a month (depending on the area of the country it might be more or less...). No way I can even afford living on my own... So I know how it feels to worry about trying to budget things... Trying to get myself situated too lol...

As for the job, I know one of the other reasons my buddy doesn't find one is that he doesn't want taxes taken out of his checks. So he dose a lot of under the table stuff, freelance, etc... Technically your still required to file taxes but he doesn't seem to think he dose.

As for the no visitor rule, that might be for the bad apples. You know the few people who do bad stuff ruin it for those who are just doing the best they can... It sucks yeah, but obviously there was a need for the rule.

THEN HOW DOES THE GOVERNMENT HAVE ANY RIGHT TO TELL YOU WHAT TO DO AT ALL?????????????????????????

Welfare was the last tiny bit og logic, now that that is gone, WTF are people thinking.
