Looks like news editors arent doing there jobs since its not shown in the news and announcements section :whistling:



Please be advised that today the Ivy Bridge series processor are announced, availablility of the processors will start next week on the 30th of April 2012.

It's slightly better than the equivalent SB chip...but looks like it's not quite as consistent in hitting 5 GHz yet. Clock for clock performance is essentially identical.


If I were building a new machine I'd probably get one (unless 2600K prices drop like crazy).

i'm giong to take it back now when i said 1155 was a dead socket and will never see a six-core. seems like i am completely wrong but you will have to wait till Q1 2013 for the 6core.


on a side note i'm pissed that ivy is backwards compatible (I know it's mean) because I just spent some coin on a soon to be un-upgradable system. Thats fine i guess as long as i get a 8core on the 2011 at some point. This feels like the AMD days all over again. you get the socket 940 than about 4 months later the 939 comes out and the 940 is abandon..
