Drdeath Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 My 2500K does 4.5GHZ @ 1.325V with a hyper 212+ And MX-4 TIM and does 33C idle and 67C max load. Um, 2500K is not the same
Drdeath Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 (edited) Grab NZXT Havik 140 which priced ~$60. Spend $10 more than your predefined budget and you will get a cooler equivalent to Noctua D14. The Havik is overpriced. Hyper 212+half the price Edited March 26, 2012 by Drdeath
d6bmg Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Then what about Noctua NH-U12P SE2? If the ambient is high, then I don't think Hyper212+ can push 2600K beyond 4GHz.
Lugia0529 Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Then what about Noctua NH-U12P SE2? If the ambient is high, then I don't think Hyper212+ can push 2600K beyond 4GHz. The place he using computer is air conditioned, so his ambient will not so high compare to the place I use my computer. I have try my processor with stock speed inside a air conditioned room with 24C temp setting, and I get 28C for idle and 48C for prime 95 30 min, while without air conditioned I get 36C at idle and 57C when using prime95 30 min. So I am 80% assume that air conditional help a lot in my country.
d6bmg Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 ^Then Hyper212+ will suffice for mild overclocking. But don't expect too much from it.
alishathomaz Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 I would recommend New Frio Extreme CPU Cooler released by Thermaltake. I bet it will work better.
