It'd cost way too much to program to the bare metal for every possible platform. :P

 

then just program it for pcs, game devs need to leave the consoles behind and join the pc master race :evilgrin:

yep, 16 man infection with one fast, invisible zombie with only a sword, who can be killed with one shot. the only way to see him is look for the sand that gets kicked up. most intense game

We usually gave the alpha a grav hammer and grenades because otherwise, everyone would jump into warthogs and/or mongooses (mongoosi? mongeese?) and it would take forever to even get 1 kill. That, and screen cheating basically made ambush impossible :rolleyes:

You could have just disabled vehicles...

nah, cause at max run speed for zombie they are as fast a as a mongoose, you just have to cut a few corners and then you can catch them

Programming to a specific build isn't the issue - it's making it work well on every single computer configuration that's impossible.

 

They could make a game run amazingly well on a select few platforms but everything else would be rubbish. That's why we don't see the same kind of optimization on PC.

cause there is no point going through all this trouble of making the graphics so much better if its going on such a low powered device only.

 

even if it is for the 720, it only has a low end 66X0 series gpu

 

Yeah we don't know much about Durango, the GPU? is meant to be x6 times more powerful but Unreal E.4 needs 10x and they said they have it running on the next gen... I think it was confirmed for 360 unless the Durango box comes out this year... plz!

 

They seem to be focusing on CPU side too for AI and stuff :)
