Seems to be quite a bit of spam today and it made me think. Is there a way we could block users from creating links in posts or adding images until they've been a member for a couple days?

But a lot of new members post links to newegg and what not, product pages. And ask for opinions and advice on new builds. You'd stop a few spammers, but alienate new members.

Yeah reported that guy with the food essay posts... also some probably Russian/Ukrainian guy cause it was just a lone website link... wished OCC has link preview function or at least the name of the website :(

Best thing to do is just hit the Report button on a post and let the mods handle it. Our mods are spread out around the world fairly well, so there are always a couple on OCC or near/at a computer at least.

And whatever you do, DON'T BUMP THE THREAD. Reporting it is all that's needed...bumping it only annoys people. :P

Also some of the quickest responding mods too I find that OCC deals with spam well much better than many other forums.

We have awesome hard working mods. As others have said just use the "report" feature as that is what it is for. :)
