Desktop-pro Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 With the growing tension with Iran and its possible nuclear weapons program lets discuss the possible outcome to the current situation. Discuss. Could this turn into the next world war? If war starts when will it? How involved is the US going to get? Zombie apocalypse? clownshoes Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 (edited) Maybe. Depends on the Iranians and Israel. The US is already involved up to their arm pits. I don't think the Zombies will survive. flareback Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I see more "peacekeeping"..... I think the US will escalate this and invade Iran under the pretense that Iran has nuclear weapons (or preventing them from getting nukes). It's going to be an ugly war. Israel will obviously side with the US and support with air power. Iran will turn into the next Iraq/Afghanistan where the US is stuck spending trillions to set up a democracy that will probably crumble as soon as the US leaves. But the US will get a base and will have access to the rest of the middle east as well as a lot of oil.
Bosco Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 The last thing the US needs is another war. They really need to start focusing on jobs and paying down the debt.
ccokeman Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Any which way it goes it will be ugly. Left to figure it out without the "sponsorship" of the super powers that part of the world might cool down. But then again throughout human history that part of the world has been a catalyst for war between ts occupants and those who want influence over the area. But war is all we're good at. It's like tradition for our country, we have to have a war at least once per decade. Yeah, but almost no one in congress has any intention of doing either. They may tell everyone they are, but it is impossible to spend your way out of debt, and spending doesn't create jobs. Yeah but since there's no Democrats running, were just gonna have more tax cuts and gov't spending if a Republican is elected.. which will probably happen unless Obama has got something up his sleeve to win under 4 years. Desktop-pro Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 One thing to add is Russia and China are backing Iran. Our debt to China in this case may be a good thing.
