Building my first computer need help?

Always wanted to build my own and now put talk to action. With everything I prob went over board and won't need the speed but I still want it. The main thing will be running is act database and games like Skyrim.

So far this is what I bought

Asus rampage iv extreme/BF3

intel I7 3930k

Evga 580 GTX

SSD 120g vtx-25sat3

Memory 16gb of gskil f3-12800

And monitor keyboard mouse and all

My question I want to liquid cool what is needed. To start off I am torn between two cases Timjin TJ07 and

Obsidian 800d. The next thing what should I cool besides the processor? At this point I have my eye on EK nickel stuff

for it all processor, full block, and the GTX 580. Do I need a dual loop and or is it recommended to use a dual loop all of this? Can safely get away from not liquid cooling the full block and GTX? Last of all any help you can give me I will greatly appreciate. I have watch to many YouTube videos figured It was time to ask for help.

For the case, go with the cosmos 2 when it comes out. WAYYYYYYYYYYYY better for water cooling.

You can run a single loop with multiple radiators as long as you have a strong enough pump. So it would go something like reservoir-pump-radiator-cpu block-second radiator-GPU block- reservoir. You can start off with one loop, and then when you add another card or something, I would go with a dual loop.

Speaking of which. Is it possible to return the GTX 580? The new 7970 is coming out in a few days and it is supposed to walk all over the gtx 580 for about the same price. Just a thought in case this is a new enough build where things still haven't arrived yet, or are still in the box.

If you go with the EK nickel stuff, just be sure that all your metal exposed to the fluid is the same.

I think that should answer any question you might have right now.

Oh here is a perfect video for your case choice.

You do not need a dual loop or 2 rads. 1 quality 120.3 rad will cool that system. Coolt the CPU and then GPU. If you add another 580, 1 rad will still suffice.

I'm with Angel on replacing that 580 for a 7970 if you can. It will only be 50$ and get about a 1/3 better performance at the very least.

If that SSD is your only source of storage you probably want to look at a cheap 1TB HDD for most games and any thing where speed is not an issue.

Thank you this helped a lot. I am sending my 580 back today thanks almost opened it up Angel you post came in at perfect timing. I have read up on the cosmos 2 looks great and is very big. I think I am going to get the TJ07 there is a lot of videos to work from, however I have time. I am waiting on the video card so cosmos 2 i may get. I really would like to stick to one rad and single loop. The TJ07 looks like the GTX black ice 480 will fit in great in the bottom. This rad sounds like it can be more then enough cooling if sticking to one rad. Then using a swiftech mcp655 for the pump. What do you all think? What reservoir would you all recommend I am a worried about ease to fill up and drain? As soon as I start building I'll post pictures I am excited been reading many diagrams of cooling setups. I am eager to start.

I have a water cooling setup with rubber hoses and I believe they are the cause of my system fluid level being low after about one year from high. The propylene fluid must be evaporating through the hoses. Topping up the fluids will be a regular maintenance activity. Four litres of distilled water is a dollar at the grocery store and 500ml propylene is $20. Try to use the FEP? tubing as it will resist the fluid evaporation. I am planing on flaring copper tubing for my next upgrade. An advantage to the propylene is the additive which will resist corrosion from different metals in the loop. Although I think there now is a water additive that can used as a biocide and corrosion inhibitor.

An i5 2500k and two GTX 570's with a single 120.2 rad and MCP655 pump is good enough in my Lian Li Lancool PC-K62.

Wow, I am actually surprised about that one. What rad do you have?

As for the reservoir, there are SOOOOOO many options that it really comes down to personal preference.

I like something like this because it is freaking awesome, but pretty much any reservoir that you like will be easy enough to fill, but hard as crap to drain. That is just about standard unless you want to get some super fancy hand made one. So I would just get what you like instead of whats practical because there is no such thing as a practical reservoir, so you might as well fight a reservoir that you love rather than fight one that you weren't supposed to fight at all.
