jdm_freek Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 The 6970 is so close(like %10-30) to a 7970. I have an idea, just buy one now and X-fire as needed. Get them off ebay for >$300 and you have nearly twice the power for half the cost. But X-fire worries me. I think the 7970 is a little faster than 10 to 30 percent because its 10 to 30% faster than the gtx
sticknstone Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 (edited) did you really think they would put out a card that beats the comp by 25% and then turn around and sell it for 30% less thats not how it works I think it is possible depending on the way the business is run. When the design/production of the card is setup with a goal of producing card at a lower price point it is possible. This is what I think AMD does. They are attempting to beat the competition. ya get what ya pay for +1 Edited December 27, 2011 by sticknstone
Boinker Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Looks like AMD cranked out a nice video card there. Solid reviews of it too so I look forward to seeing Nvidia's Response, "D

Fogel Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I wish I had seen this earlier. I was expecting this level of performance from the 7950. I am definitely waiting on nVidia's new architecture now.
