Anyone using a Wacom Cintiq?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just got a Wacom Cintiq 12WX and would like to know which direction I should go with it; animation or graphic illustration. Thanks.

Which one of those interest you the most? The Cintiq will work for either, but if you're planning on doing animation you'll need a program on your PC/Mac to animate all the drawings.

GIMP does it just fine. :P

i'm kinda jealous because i only have the older model without a screen. not a huge deal, i just can't look directly at what i'm drawing. Traditionally tablets are used for drawing stills and using zbrush for digital sculpting. Now a lot has changed but i suggest using the pad for hand on things and using the mouse and keyboard for use in After Effects otherwise it's going to take you ten time longer to animate.

also i was looking at the website and it says it has color management oprtions but no more details. i'm guessing it's like any normal monitor and you'll have to color calibrate it with Eye-One or something unless you have don't care about colors being correct.
