SpikeSoprano Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 These prices seem very reasonable for newest generation chips.
MJCRO Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) These prices seem very reasonable for newest generation chips. Eh, it's literally the same as Sandy Bridge with more EU's for the GPU, and a die shrink to 22nm. Haswell LGA1150 is what I'll be waiting for to see what's really coming. El_Capitan Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Yeah, I'm pretty content from SB. It has everything I want I want from it. Great performance and overclockability, virtu, and srt... though it would be interesting to see what performance and overclockability wil be like with the die shrink. jammin Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Nice to see them sticking roughly to SB prices, as I think they could charge a little more if they wanted to. Doubt it'll tempt me away from my 2500K, but it'll be interesting to see how they stack up once released.
Tjj226_Angel Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I was really expecting so see higher clocks out of the CPU. Because of that, I have a question. I have a i7 950 now. Should I buy IB or should I wait for haswell?
Fogel Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I thought IB was supposed to go to 4Ghz stock speed, lame intel. (ooo, double pun!)
NikoDG Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I thought IB was supposed to go to 4Ghz stock speed. They probably saved the 4GHz for the IB-E line-up
d6bmg Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Nice pricing there. Small initial price bumps which will normalize as the time goes on.

My thoughts exactly, but if the die shrink does show some crazy OCs or low voltages, then I could be persuaded
