I don't have any issues with the pole.

If Ed wants to be a little bit more specific on pirating that will help you guys with your voting.

Ed are you asking about downloading only? Or copying your own stuff count as well?

Second where is the option for Porn

I am really look for very general info here. BTW your polls results here folks will very likely be discussed on Computer Ed Radio cheers.gif

Copying your own material for personal use is not piracy, uploading it for others is so I figured the pirates would know what they where doing. As for porn, well I considered that part of the movie/TV. But porn,. seriously? Guys go get a girlfriend, trust me it is a lot more fun to actually do the act than watch it.thumbsup3.gif

Have to say, so far I find the results pretty interesting, I wouldn't have thought there would be much of a difference in the results as far as what people pirate. Honestly, I'd like to see some opinions on why someone might pirate music but not the other things.

people don't care if lars has the money to buy 2 more cars, and the poll shows.

-edit- I will admit, i was taken back by the votes from the users of this forum. the people here are very quiet about the choices they choose about piracy . I expected the numbers to reflect much higher on the "no I don't".

(im not scolding anyone, i love my occ people) I just thought there was a larger margin of strictly purchasing.

ed - to be confused about the commonplace of internet porn is literally second guessing what dictates the largest number of websites on the internet. there are more porn websites on the internet than ANY other type.

no downloads, no porn, im expecting your next post to be about accepting jesus onto my PC.

nyt ryda - be nice, this thread doesn't "assist or aid to the act of commiting piracy"

i have been in the pc business for quite a while now and everyone has used pirated software at some point even if for testing before buying the product. i am not for piracy....not at all but 85% percent of " i have never used pirate software people" are not telling the truth.

While I wasn't surprised by it, I did have the impression that majority of OCC was against piracy and didn't pirate anything until now. Maybe I'm just more open about being a pirate than most people though, not sure if that's a good of bad thing though.

As for the porn topic, I think accidental piracy of porn happens a lot actually. Similar to that of images, I've seen people take images and turn them into desktop wallpaper and sigs without really getting permission from the artists. I think a lot of people that may not be considered pirates have probably done this sort of stuff before though.

Well, to be fair the question asks what you DO pirate, if it had asked what you HAVE pirated there'd be a lot less "no's", lol

I was thinking about that myself, I just voted under the idea of anything I have ever pirated. Like seriously, if you were to look at this poll as if it's asking what do you currently pirate? You could turn off your torrent software, vote no, and then turn it back on. To limit the timeframe is cheating the question in my opinion, but I guess it's not my poll either so maybe Ed can clarify this point.

And now let us pray.... ohsnap.gif

Okay seriously I have never understood porn or strip clubs for that matter. I mean porn is like watching a cooking show while you are starving. You watch them creating an amazing filet and you eat a PBJ while watching and feel satisfied. Strip clubs are like taking a kid to a candy store and tell him he must pay to get in and pay to be able to see the candy, even smell it but he cannot touch or eat it, LAME!

I mean if you enjoy porn that si cool, personally I enjoy a real woman a lot more but I guess whatever cranks your engine. woot.gif

Okay I am not going to get into silly nitpicking here. The question is do, as in actively and current. I agree that most people have pirated at some time in their life, I know I have and I honestly do not know ANYONE personally that has not at some time in their life.

So you have a wife or girlfriend, you get all hot and bothered at the strip club, you go home and rock her world. What is wrong with that? Oh wait because she will say you are thinking of them. I almost forgot that part.

In a relationship or not porn just rules! How many chicks are gonna do some of the stuff in those movies? Good luck.

Hit the nail on the head there, that's pretty much what porn is there for, it's for all those things you can think of doing, that she isn't willing to do. Also some people just enjoy watching porn too, not like getting into it but just watching it, like if you're watching wrestling, you enjoy watching it but you don't want to wrestle.

I used to spend days downloading a game, finding it was NOT the game, re-downloading the real game, downloading a crack, re-downloading a crack because the original was a virus, spending two more days wiping and re-installing everything on my computer because the virus was really nasty and I gave up trying to repair my system after 12 hours, finally getting the game to work and then do it all again next week. Wasn't worth it at all. Now I just use steam and subscribe to the Indie bundles, (I buy them all at $10 when they come out.)

My Steam game library includes games that I have owned for years and never even played! Sometimes I buy a game just because it's on sale or I think the developers did a good job!

Wait, was this too much discussion? Did I break the rules?
