Nyt Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I'd expect a bit more. Mine does 4.8 with only 1.375 vcore. Because yours hasn't degraded yet I just need mine to last until Ivy
El_Capitan Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 [ I'd expect a bit more. Mine does 4.8 with only 1.375 vcore. Overclock it some more, that's an amazing 2600K! I just need mine to last until Ivy Wait until Ivy? What, you're not going to switch to Bulldozer, first?
MJCRO Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 (edited) Most Tj's of Intel CPU's is around 98 - 100C, Intel only states it be should run around 73C if you want it to last like 10 years or whatever. But you have a stable OC of 5Ghz @ ~80C max, that's perfect for however long your gonna keep it. Waco Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Because yours hasn't degraded yet I just need mine to last until Ivy And it won't, at that voltage. I'm not going to replacing this chip for as long as I can help.
d6bmg Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I'd expect a bit more. Mine does 4.8 with only 1.375 vcore. You are lucky. My recently received 2700K is exactly same as EL_captains chip. Can't go beyond 5.1GHz.. :-(
El_Capitan Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 People I know that bin CPU's say the 2600K's can reach higher overclocks than the 2700K's, but the 2700K's are just more efficient at the 4.8 - 5.1GHz overclocks.
Speedway Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 There wil always be a "luck of the draw" aspect to CPU OCing, no matter which version of a release you have!
