nullyn Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Last night the HDD on my computer crashed, so this afternoon I grabbed an extra seagate 1.5TB HDD I had laying around reinstalled everything and now its all good. Except, when I try to access the Western Digital 1TB external HDD that I use to store music, movie, and pictures it says that the folder is empty. When I go to My computer it shows that there is 89.7GB of free space. I have tried the external HDD in a Ubuntu on the same computer and everything is showing up. I just cant access anything in Win7 Professional x64. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Then format the drive and restore all your data. That should fix the problem. If you don't want to do that, then I would look up how to alter the drive path ie changing the D rive from D to E and see if that helps. Still, formatting and recovering your data is your best bet. nullyn Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 That worked. Thank you very much. My wife would have been very upset if we had lost all of the baby pictures.
