3V BUILD. i want some opinions

Recommended Posts

Hello to everyone. Im about to build a gaming monster machine and ,up and down i know what hardware i want to use but i need some extra opinions from someones that may know something more from me. So first thinks first. I like A LOT building somethink on my own and i decide that i want to build my own case, from scratch and so i did. i will post some pictures of the almost finished case i start to do and i will continue after that.

The side "door" of my case in front of the old one

So thats it. Is build foul from aluminium and i use a thermal-proof tape to cover where the parts are coming together. (Im living in Cyprus and is like 42 C here

so the problem is coming from outside the case). The blanks is gonna be filled with plexiglass. The metal it self is very cold and with the fans im intending to use heat is not gonna be a problem at all!

Ok now the serious part.. Im gonna write down the parts im willing to buy and please i want some strong opinions on that cause im willing to spend A LOT of money(i save a big amount of that) and i want it to go for the best.. Fisrt of all im going for new LGA 2011 so no benchmarks are available yet but i want it ASAP ..

I want you to know that im a huge fan of Intel and nvidia . No way im gonna go for a AMD CPU , and very little cahnce for an AMD GPU . After that im a big fan of ASUS on parts..Anyway

Lets go...

Motherboard: Asus ROG Rampage IV Extreme

CPU: Intel Core i7-3960X Extreme Edition

GPU: MATRIX GTX580/2DIS/1536MD5 x2 in SLI . Badly want 2x ASUS MARS II but is gonna take me way out of budget as is way to expensive..

RAM: Gskill RipjawsX F3-18400CL9D-32GBXMD Here i need some more help cause im not to good with RAM

SSD: Force Series™ GT 240GB SATA 3 6Gb/s Solid-State Hard Drive

HDD: I need suggestions here for some HDDs fo 3TBs total for data such as movies etc..

Watercooler: Is gonna be two different, one kit for CPU and one kit for GPUs.

Case Fans: Please some help, quiet please.

Case LEDs: Anythink will do, no prob.

DVD ROM: One good DVD writer will do.

Fan Controller: NZXT SENTRY LX

Power Supply: Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 1200w 80 PLUS Gold . If is any better let me know

Keyboard: TT esports Challenger Ultimate

Mouse: TT esports Black

Headset: TT esports Shock One

So thats what i want i im saving money for a year and a half plus the christmas money im gonna get earlier this year for this... Please let me know if is something that is better than that in any categorie..

Thanks in advance for your time guys!!

One direction I've been going with lights is to have something you can switch off. non-led fans and use something like this to add bling to the case.

With your set up why 2 seperate cooling systems? My system is running off 1 pump and 1 resivoir. I have it split off of the pump, 1 side goes to the 2X GTX 590s then to a 2X120 rad and the other side goes to the i7 2600K then to a 120 rad. they link back up right before entering the resivoir and starting the cycle again. May be some thing to think about Nothing in my system has gotten over 40 deg cel as of yet. The processor idles around 28 deg cel average and the graphics at about 30 deg cel.
