Prunes Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 I know that there's a bunch of topics about this, but a lot of them are started by people living in USA, which makes buying parts somewhat easier. Also I didn't quite find what I was looking for. The plan will be to cool my CPU. Won't be getting into GPU cooling yet. Specs CPU - i5 2500k MB - Asus P8P67 Pro Case - CM HAF 922 I only have room for a 120.2 rad. Either on the side (mesh) or in the top. If you could find the parts on one of the two websites below: Coolerkit Edbpriser
Locutus Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Can't you buy from any of the popular UK sites? I know most of them have generally good pricing and at least a few even ship to the US so Denmark shouldn't be a huge stretch. Prunes Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 If the prices are reasonable, then sure. It's just because Newegg doesn't ship to Denmark and FrozenCPU has quite high shipping prices. Which ones should I look at? And also, what parts should I get?
Prunes Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 No help at all? I tried to put together a setup. Is it okay? How is compatibility? Am I missing something? (I apologize that it's from a Danish website) Pump Resevoir CPU block Radiator Tubes TIM I already have two of these fans
Tjj226_Angel Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Well considering I have no clue on how to speak your language, I can't use your website. I would just do a denmark google for the XSPC rasa 240 kit. It is a good kit, easy to build, easily affordable, and is also available in a high performance kit as well. Since it is a true water cooling system it has an advantage over the corsair H100 with out costing much more giving it an advantage over a completely custom loop. Prunes Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Well, it would be fine, if you found the parts on Newegg. Then I'll check to see if they have them in Denmark. It's just some of the guys in here actually tell me to link the Danish websites for them to browse. I saw those kits, but it's just cause I want to do it as a small project and learn from the experience, so I'd rather do it the hard way

However, the XSPC kit is a full water kit. It has the same aches, pains, and appeal as any other water cooling system. The difference is you have less water flow, which doesn't matter for an i5 cpu, and you don't have a cool reservoir. I will continue to look to see what I can find, but it really is stupid to turn away such a great deal because of poor preconceptions. Just be sure to give it another look because other wise this will cost a lot more.
Tjj226_Angel Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Also, can you give me a budget? Preferably in USD so I don't have to deal with annoying conversions? If so that would be a huge help!
Prunes Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 The budget would be about $300-350, maybe stretch it to 400. I'll give the that kit you recommended a second look then
Tjj226_Angel Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Reservoir pump radiator CPU block tubbing This is a very showy setup, so the price can always be dropped down if need be. Let me know what you think.
Prunes Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 That setup looks sweet. And it's even cheaper to buy from FrozenCPU and get it shipped from there, than it is to buy it from Denmark. The only change will be the resevoir. It has received quite a few complaints about leaks and I don't want to much light emitting from my pc. So I too this instead

The only change will be the resevoir. It has received quite a few complaints about leaks and I don't want to much light emitting from my pc. So I too this instead If your computer has a side window, I would go with the other reservoir and just do leak testing outside the case. Since you always do leak testing outside the case anyways, it would not be a big deal to take some epoxy resin to patch it up. If your computer doesn't have a side case, I would make the reservoir from scratch. I don't know how good you are at building things, but I would make a bay reservoir that would take up 3, 5 and a quarter inch bays. It is pretty simple to make a box out of acrylic. Make a box, and put a half inch thread at the top and a half inch thread at the bottom and a fill port at the top and you are good to go. Then you can dress it up like what this guy did.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Y-YhVSa3B8&feature=related . I mean there are hundreds of ways you can go about making your own reservoir and it is pretty simple once you get the hang of it. Personally though I would just stick with the reservoir I chose. Leaking is simply too easy to fix to ignore such an awesome res. Just an FYI though, stick with the pump and the CPU block. They are really high quality items that you will be thankful to have in your build.
