GPU question

OK, so I just bought a third monitor and I can't run more then 2 monitors off of my GPU. Also it deactives my onboard GPU. So I can only use 2 out 3 of my monitors. I know I need to get a display port adapter. I know what kind to get but I was wondering if I could run one of the monitors off a old GPU I have lying around. My mobo has 2 PCI-E slots and I the card I have is a old Nvidia card. Would this work? I have seen stuff like this work, were 2 totally different cards can power different monitors. Also I don't/won't use eyefiniti anyway and only use my third and second monitors for internet use and watching youtube.

Really what I want to do is run my main and second monitor off my 6850 and my third of the Nvidia card. Would this work?

It's an ATI X300, There are no markings on it that tell what it is.

I know for a fact using the third monitor will work with another card in place. The nvidia and catylyst drivers my argue but it shouldn't be anything disasterous. Not sure regarding the three of one card. Ill have to try That later on. Lol

Well Acuaclty I put it in and it's a ATI X300 GPU. But I can't get it to work. I installed some drivers for it and It won't use both cards at once. Right now it's using the X300 and I only have one screen.

Why does AMD make you get a DP adapter? Why can't I just use another card.

Right now I am trying to install the legacy drivers to a different place so they don't conflict with my 6850 drivers. Ok that didn't work

So what happens right now is it boots to the 6850 monitors only and when I go into display it shows that the third is on a VGA device, which is the same thing it says when I use the onboard. Also I know this card works I just booted to it. Any ideas?
