Crawlerz246 Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 so I'm just doing nothing as always yesterday on my PC (some internet, email, BF3, etc) and suddenly my mouse wheel cuts out. just plain stops responding. it's a logitech g9 gaming mouse - been with me for a while now, but has always been 100% operational. so I start googling the problem (but not before I plug the mouse into a different USB, which didn't help). google turns up many "mouse wheel not responding" threads. didn't find an answer though. I have no new hardware/software. although I have defragmented the day before. [sarcasm]a lot of good that did![/sarcasm] my setup's in me sig. kudos if you can help guys. Black64 Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Did you try to clean it out? update drivers?
Crawlerz246 Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 tried uninstaling and letting windows reinstall. reinstalled logitech setpoint app. nothing works. the wheel gives very small slow movements only in IE9 and those are glitchy and half the time the opposite direction. didn't try taking it apart. not even sure how. Waco Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I bet the sensor is covered by dirt/grime. If you take it apart you'll void your warranty though - so if you can RMA it I'd just do that.
Crawlerz246 Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 OK I took it apart was way easier then I thought. yes the wheel was covered in dust on one side. works now. even after I put it together. oh and hey - no leftover parts!
