GabrielT Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I am very torn between these three sets. Wife isn't into boomy bass but I am and all these sets have bass adjustments on them so it is really down to sound quality. We don't have a lot of space so a 2.1 system is the biggest we can do. In order of best to least likely to buy. Antec Rockus 2.1 is my top pick. She seems to like her highs and she enjoys good sound but with some decent bass. These speakers seem to fit the bill the best and for as little as $130 they are nicely in the budget. Logitech Z623's have great reviews bass wise but sound quality seems to be lacking. Also they are the least fixable design because of non removable cables and that alone is a deal breaker. The Klipsh set is out of my price range. Can't really afford more than $150 I have heard good things. Also not a fan of unguarded speakers, too easy to break. Corsair 2500 was also in the running but I REALLY can't afford these and if I could they would be for me. The 2200 series seems to be not up to par but are very affordable and fixed cable design. If there are any other very high quality sets let me know. $150 is the absolute max unless I break my promise.

Black64 Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Well you guys are slow so I jumped on a pair of M-Audio AV 40's on sale for $120. Nice choice , I was about to recommend those. I use a pair of those at work for demos. Great highs and mids. I would get a sub to go along with them thou.

But if she wants the explosions in her games cooler I was thinking of getting a Polk Audio PSW10. Any thoughts?

MJCRO Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I would say the Logitech Z623's. Great bass on that 8'' woofer they built. Nice mid's and high's. I'd say Logitech since I haven't used the others you were thinking about.
Stonerboy779 Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Hey Gab go and buy THIS! now Polk make decent speakers and subs. It will pack an alright punch at 10" 50watt RMS not the biggest but more than enough for home use. With a frequency range down to 35Hz it is plenty low enough for most people if you want more punch maybe this yamaha if you can find it on sale will fit the bill nicely. I wouldn't pay $99 for it though.
GabrielT Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 She really likes them, problem is I really like them too and I want a nice setup for myself without buying the same thing she has. No need for a sub, these sound very nice. She said so herself. I was thinking Hercules XPS 2.0 60 for myself. The low review because of QC really don't bother me, chances are problems will show themselves right away and I can just play tag with amazon until I get a working set if I don't get one to start with. Again, I have a very small room and I honestly don't need a sub in my little apartment because my neighbors have done nothing to make me hate them yet. HarryTaco Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Ive got the origional Logitech Z2300s 200watt 2.1 set-up. If the new Z623 is an improvement, how can you go wrong I dont know. My Z2300s have been amazingly satisfying now for like 7 years. They just keep going and going and well like the Bunny.
