Eva_Unit_0 Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 Hmm...I'm at a loss. I don't know...did you accidently use a crossover cable to connect the second comp to the router? I'm just shooting in the dark here.
Bladeline Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 In your new computer, are the Lan drivers installed? Is the Lan connection enabled in the XP network connections? Have you tried running the cable syraight to your new computer, to be sure your getting connection there?

Hades25 Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 well if you have a 1394 connection that is the firewire connection ...if there is no lan connection your network card may not be installed to go to dos start-->run and type cmd or command
CheeseMan42 Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 well once again i am stupid, but in a good way. i went into the bios and realized that i didn't have the stupid lan controller enabled . i enabled it and surprise it immediately worked. thanks to whoever pointed out that the 1394 was for firewire. i am gonna go download folding right now. huzzah!
