Barreto Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 (edited) Allright, I'm editing the topic's title and first post so there won't be need to create a new one. Ok, these are the models: XFX HD-695A-CNFC: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150518 XFX HD-695X-CDDC: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150548 XFX HD-695X-CNDC: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150550 XFX HD-695X-CNFC: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150530 Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 100312-SR: http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-DL-DVI-I-SL-DVI-D-PCI-Express-100312SR/dp/B004FPYJFI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1319986045&sr=8-3 Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 100312-2SR: http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-DL-DVI-I-SL-DVI-D-PCI-Express-100312-2SR/dp/B004TA6RY0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1319986045&sr=8-2 Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 100312-3SR (Dirt 3 Edition): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102945 Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 100312-3L: http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-DL-DVI-I-SL-DVI-D-PCI-Express-100312-3L/dp/B005X64QAG/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1319986045&sr=8-6 Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 100312TXSR (Toxic): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102951 Allrighty! There are TEN models out there. The questions are: 1) Which one has the best cost/benefit? 2) Which one is easier or has the best odds to flash into a 6970? 3) Which one is the coldest in load temperatures? (I don't wanna have overheat issues...) 4) Which one has the best warranty? 5) Which one has the best bundle? EDIT: Took out the FleX edition, as it isn't sold in Brazil. capthowdy575 Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Surely, a 2GB 6950 is gonna be my next video card. But... Which brand to choose? Some say XFX overheats too much. HIS has a nicer design. Sapphire has the best warranty. There are so many things I already read around the web... So I just don't know which one to choose. They cost around the same thing, so budget isn't going to affect this choice. I need some experts advice! XD seeing as XFX has the best warranty being lifetime of you owning the card. sapphire only offers 3 years of warranty. never really owned a HIS card, I would go with whatever card you like better lol. XFX would be my first choice sapphire second and HIS last since I've never owned one before,
potatochobit Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 first of all, sapphire used to have the worst warranty
they are, however, the cheapest priced so most people end up buying one
XFX is usually stock reference design so it will be hotter than one with special cooling
not that it matters really
capthowdy575 Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 you can always go aftermarket cooling.
Barreto Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Hmm... So XFX has the best warranty. My main worry now is about load temperatures. As I might get a Cooler Master HAF 912 Plus or HAF 922, should I be concerned with video card temperatures?
Barreto Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Sorry for the double post... There are 3 XFX models, though. HD-695A-CNFC, HD-695X-CNDC and HD-695X-CNFC. Is there a real difference between them?
Stonerboy779 Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Sorry for the double post... There are 3 XFX models, though. HD-695A-CNFC, HD-695X-CNDC and HD-695X-CNFC. Is there a real difference between them? Reference and non-reference. The HD-695A-CNFC has the best chance, not guaranty of flashing. Barreto Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Reference and non-reference. The HD-695A-CNFC has the best chance, not guaranty of flashing. Hmm... Do you recommend XFX over Sapphire? I'm gonna look around for comparisons between these two cards.
Barreto Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Edited the topic's title and first post. The questions are more specific now...
VaporX Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Okay I personally know 4 different people that have bene screwed by XFX and their warrenty. They would have a card that XFX no longer made and the result would be XFX giving them a card from the new model lineup that was actually less powerful than the card they had. XFX might make a solid product but their life time warrenty has been in joke from the experiences I have heard. I have the Sapphire 6950 Flex and can tell you the card is solid, quick and all but silent. Even under gaming load I have yet to hear this card in my rig. This FleX edition seems to ventilate well, as I read on a review. Too bad this edition isn't sold in Brazil... I'm gonna take it out of that list. If your friends had to use the warranty... It means XFX blows easier or were they trying to overclock it to its limit?
xPETEZx Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Id steer clear of XFX. Had a very bad experience when my 8800GTX went pop. All they offered was a "discounted" price on a GTX260. (Down from about £200 to £140) I currently have 2 Sapphire cards, and they run very well. Haven't had to use there warranties so cant comment on that.
