    • I'm still a customer
    • They pissed me off, so I left for good
    • I left, but I might come back if they fix things
    • Don't care, never used Netflix, never will

Well, I decided that the extra costs for both Streaming and DVD's on a subscription basis got too high. Since I got Amazon Prime from my brother, and I already got a great deal on my cable/internet, so I'm pretty much set on watching stuff.

What are your thoughts?

Well I personally didn't vote because I don't think I fit into any of that.

I used to use and love Netflix. For me the way the timeline goes is "get netflix with streaming and dvd > price is raised $1 > they offer separate plans, I switch to streaming only, getting rids of the extra $1 cost > they completely split up the streaming and dvd plan"

So really the whole issue never affected me. The thing that happened for me was that once they made the split up and everyone made a big deal out of it and said they were going to drop netflix, it got me thinking and I realised that I really didn't use Netflix as much as I used to and didn't feel like I was getting my money's worth. So I dropped them and picked up Amazon Prime because it offered instant TV and movies at no additional cost compared to what it was before, offered more value as well since I order most of my stuff from Amazon, and it's cheaper than Netflix's unlimited streaming plan.

I was never one of those people that got upset over that price "raise", I do that because it was a split up, not a price raise. Honestly I can't believe people are even that angry over it, like 75% of the DVDs I received from Netflix were always scratched to hell and couldn't be played, and let me tell you, I watch some pretty below radar stuff, they couldn't have seen that much use before getting to me.

I think anyone that was using the Netflix service for the DVDs mainly was a little silly anyway, redbox is much better deal after all, the best you can hope for out of your money from Netflix was about 4 DVDs per month, that's about $2 per DVD, redbox pretty much beats that. If you're the kind of person that liked the late fees part of DVDs with Netflix, you were getting even less for your money then. The DVD service from Netflix just doesn't really add up no matter how you spin it.

How do I feel about Netflix now? I would probably happily go back to them, their streaming is pretty much the best around in my opinion, the only thing that beats it, is piracy. I still recommend Netflix to people I know as well, I don't have a problem with them.

So I'm not sure where my answer falls in the poll, it's something like "I left, but still like them" I guess.

Netflix handled the price hike wrong, that said the service is still pretty damn good. It sucks that they started charging extra for the DVD's but in the long run for me, it was a good move... I'd get a DVD and it would lay there for MONTHS... the price hike caused me to drop the DVD service and stick with the stream only.

I didn't cancel mine because of the price change. I actually liked that they split it up. I only used the online streaming so it saved me money dropping the dvd part. But I got tired of watching a show and them having for example Season 1-4 but not 5-7 or w/e. Or having Seasons 1-2, not 3, but they would have 4-5. Or sometimes i'd come across an episode that wouldn't load and just freeze. Thats why I cancelled it. My thought process is well if I still have to download these shows to watch them whats the point of paying netflix.

Well, this is how I see it being a former client of theirs. Before the price hike fiasco, I was only semi-satisfied with their product. I am a native born citizen of the USA and I have seen just about every movie i ever wanted to see at least once if not multiple times. The Netflix Library of streaming Movie offerings is, for me, sadly lacking in any real interesting content. I was able to do the mail order DVD thing for more recent movies I wanted to see, but I like just going to the computer and doing the streaming thing instantly. When they wanted to charge more for seperate services, well that was it for me.

I dont care for the mail order DVD process and the Streaming Library pretty much sux for me. Why would i want to go back?

I will wait until I can see a provider offer all the latest movies and a more complete Library for a decent price on a streaming package. I dont care much who it is as long as i get what I want.

When I heard the news I immediately knew it wasn't going to bode well for them.

You'd think it would have been more obvious to the company :whistling:

Never used them, I've got Amazon Prime but I have to say most of the movies that are included in the subscription are old and/or low quality. :vmad:

Still a Netflix customer, but would drop them if ANYONE else came along with a equally sized library of streaming content. I still have the DVD/BR service too. Only because I'm the worlds worst about getting a movie and then not having time to sit and enjoy if for 2-3 weeks after I've rented it.

The price hike, and more specifically the amount of the price hike, and the way it was(n't) communicated very well still burns my butt. If I had any other option I would have dropped them like a hot pan. So for now I'm just biding my time to see if anyone else can come up with an equal service at a better price, or if Netflix significantly improves their streaming collection, or if they can manage to get new dvd/br release any quicker than a month after everyone else has them.
