Because it's not better than two 6950s

If 1GB, there are two options: Either the Gigabyte running at 870 core clock and 5GHz "video clock speed" (same as 1250 mem clock?) http://www.edbpriser.dk/Product/Details.aspx?pid=4869095 1GB 6950 850/5.2 Or MSI running at 850 core clock and 5.2GHz "video clock speed" (same as 1300 mem clock?) http://www.edbpriser.dk/Product/Details.aspx?pid=5497030 Or should I just buy the one with the best fans/cooling solution and overclock it myself? (I'm not going to install aftermark fans) Which brings the following options: 1GB version: http://www.edbpriser.dk/Product/Details.aspx?pid=5182812 http://www.edbpriser.dk/Product/Details.aspx?pid=4869095 http://www.edbpriser.dk/Product/Details.aspx?pid=5179846 http://www.edbpriser.dk/Product/Details.aspx?pid=4983609 http://www.edbpriser.dk/Product/Details.aspx?pid=5497030 http://www.edbpriser.dk/Product/Details.aspx?pid=4674405 http://www.edbpriser.dk/Product/Details.aspx?pid=4904875 2GB version: http://www.edbpriser.dk/Product/Details.aspx?pid=4719250 http://www.edbpriser.dk/Product/Details.aspx?pid=5156379 EDIT: Google can translate pages http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.edbpriser.dk%2FProduct%2FDetails.aspx%3Fpid%3D4719250&act=url Edited October 26, 2011 by Brutality
wevsspot Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 You definitely want the 2Gb version, otherwise it completely negates any recommendation I would make of the AMD card over the nVidia option in the same market space. Clock for clock the nVidia cards are stronger, but AMD has their 2Gb offerings that offer better performance at higher resolutions, AA, eye candy and in particular they scale better than the nVidia options. I don't have any personal experience with Club3D branded cards, so I can't offer a thumbs up or thumbs down. But of the options you posted, I would go with the XFX 2Gb cards if it were me. Brutality Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Ok gonna order now then Final question: When is it time to change PSU? I mean: How long time before it gets old and needs to be replaced In years perhaps I've had my Corsair for at least 1½-2 years.. possibly 3-4, hard to remember) Or do PSU never die or wear off or old or whatever you say? Components age in a psu and the length of its life depends on how much load its been subjected too over its life and what sort of temps as well. Stonerboy779 Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Yeah I understand that, but as a hardcore gamer - When is it time? Hardcore would likely be replacing each time they upgrade cards because there old psu would no longer support new higher power cards. Whats the specific psu you have? Will it support 6950cf? Corsair TX750W wevsspot said I wouldn't have any problems running 6950cf with it Thinking hard - to make a better estimate of the age of my PSU I would say 2-2½years - doubt more It has also folded 900k points over 11months (first couple of months it was folding 24/7 - but only 5 days in a row; went to parents in weekends - due to university) EDIT: I'm going with the XFX - I looked at how they both overclocked and these are the results; Club3D: 840/1280 XFX: 906/1493 RAMPAGE!!!! Wev is right PSU will handle cards and should be fine another year or two even folding occasionally. Edit: you could still check for any visable signs of deterioration leaky caps ect. But if it hasnt started performing badly making weird sounds I dont see why it wont carry you easily to your next upgrade.
